Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you") and Safety Standards Ltd. ("we," "us" or "our"), concerning your access to and use of our website as well as any other media form, related services, or compliance bookings.

2. Services Provided

We act as a service provider coordinating property compliance certificates, including but not limited to:

  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)
  • Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) and Boiler Servicing
  • Fire Alarm Certificates
  • Emergency Light Certificates

All services are carried out by qualified, accredited engineers (e.g., Gas Safe registered, NICEIC/NAPIT approved).

3. Customer Responsibilities

By booking a service with us, you agree to:

  • Ensure clear and safe access to the property and the relevant equipment (boilers, consumer units, etc.) at the agreed appointment time.
  • Provide accurate tenant contact details if we are required to coordinate access directly with them.
  • Ensure that pre-payment meters (gas/electric) have sufficient credit for testing purposes.

Failure to provide access or adequate credit may result in an aborted call-out fee.

4. Pricing, Payments, and Cancellations

Pricing: All prices displayed on our website are starting prices. Final prices may vary based on property size, location, and the complexity of the installation. We will confirm the final price before finalizing your booking.

Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule an appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a late cancellation fee.

5. Remedial Works and "Failures"

If an inspection results in an "Unsatisfactory" outcome or an appliance fails a safety check, we will issue the respective warning notices and reports. A quote for remedial works will be provided. You are under no obligation to use our services for the remedial works; however, the initial certification fee remains payable regardless of a pass or fail outcome.

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and defined following the laws of England and Wales. Safety Standards Ltd. and yourself irrevocably consent that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute which may arise in connection with these terms.
